| Alison is a well-known fine art and editorial photographer who has lived and worked on Martha's Vineyard for nearly 25 years. The island has provided the inspiration and subject matter for much of her color and black-and-white photography. |
Five books of Alison's work have been published: Vineyard Harvest with chef Tina Miller (Broadway Books 2005), Stone by Design with stonemason Lew French (Gibbs Smith 2005), Vineyard Summer (Little Brown 1994), Remembrance and Light: Images of Martha's Vineyard (Harvard Common Press 1984) and Until I Saw the Sea (Henry Holt 1995). |

Alison's photos regularly appear in Yankee Magazine, Martha's Vineyard Magazine and Cape Cod Life. Her fine art prints can also be viewed at the Alison Shaw Gallery in Oak Bluffs. She teaches photography workshops on the Vineyard, in Maine, Nova Scotia and New Zealand.
